How do you become a 'Board Certified Specialist in Acupuncture and Moxibustion Medicine'?

The Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Medicine is the biggest department at Kyung Hee University Korean Medicine Hospital with integrative & specialized treatment centers for facial palsy, weight management, musculoskeletal pain management, and neurological diseases. Clinicians see thousands of patients per year, need to publish at least 3 clinical papers per year, and need to pass the national specialist examination to meet minimum government requirements and become registered as a Board Certified Specialist in Acupuncture and Moxibustion Medicine. In Korea, only 30 doctors get certified per year and in total there are only 600 specialists in Acupuncture and Moxibustion Medicine nationwide (as of 2019).
